Patient waitlist: how to fill last-minute cancellations
A cancellation the day before doesn't have to become an empty slot. A simple waitlist turns one patient's cancellation into another patient's visit.
Who goes on the list
Patients who asked for an earlier time and those happy to come at short notice. Note their preferred times.
Offer it right away
As soon as someone cancels, offer the slot to one person at a time, in the order they asked.
A clear message
"Hi Pedro! A slot opened tomorrow at 10 am. Would you like it? Reply by 6 pm and it's yours."
Don't push
If there's no reply, move on to the next person.
Measure what you recover
Count every month how many open slots became visits.
